Our Story
Our humble roots began in 1992 when David Rekstad founded the business. David made his rounds to local dental, oral surgeon, endodontic, and orthodontic offices creating the first of many partnerships that still exist to this day. In 2000, Mary left her full-time job to join David to officially launch DMR Supplies.
DMR jumped into the educational supply market in 2003. In 2007, customized kits were added to the mix. We excelled in this category. Due to our flexibility, DMR can execute orders down to each minute detail. Mary, as owner, took orders, communicated with faculty on customization, packed and delivered the kits. In 2012, Dennis Wagner, with many years of experience in the education market, teamed up with DMR and greatly added to our base of customers in Minnesota.
The perfect part-time summer job, Mary elicited the help of her children, DJ and Mitchell, and niece Samantha to assemble kits in their teens. This group became DMR’s defacto employment agency, recruiting over 30 of their friends throughout the years to help get the job done. Out of this group of young employees, DMR’s core business team was formed. After finishing their post-secondary education, these helpers became full-time employees—DJ in 2017, Mitchell in 2020 and Sam Meyer and Mitch Dickerson in 2021.
